Also at Potato Day . .

Hayley and Finlay of Seeds Of Scotland, will be selling local seeds from their new base at Ardullie Farm near Dingwall, and have asked us to publicise their catalogue.  (click 'Seed shop' on the menu).

Laura Donnelly of the Highland Community Waste Partnership will be offering information about the HCWP project and raising awareness of the urgent need to reduce food and other kinds of waste.

Black Isle Horticultural Society will be selling kits for the 'Tub of tatties' competition at their Summer Show to be held on 10 August.

-------------------------

After the event

Last Saturday saw over 700 people through the door at North Kessock Village Hall for another successful TBI Potato Day.  Over 40 different varieties were available, and sold like the proverbial hot cakes, with the result that we had fewer 'leftovers' than on some previous occasions. This partly planned outcome (we ordered less), meant that although we were able to supply local primary schools and Incredible Edible Inverness there will unfortunately be no seed potatoes available at community markets this year.

TBI trustee Julie Gibson, the event's organiser, was prompt in emailing the many volunteers to thank them for their contribution to the day's success, and she herself is owed an enormous debt of gratitude for all the hard work she devoted to its organisation.
